CHARITY AND A MARATHON TASK
10 years on from my serious running days I will be running my first 26-miler since 1999 as the sub 4 hour pacemaker for The Children’s Trust in the London Marathon this April. This is not as simple as just getting myself around the course, something I’m relatively confident I would be able to do. No straightforward solo run for me. My task is to lead a group of other runners around the course and hopefully inspire them to complete it in under 4 hours.
I have chosen to run for The Children’s Trust as it is an amazing charity that provides care, education, and therapy for children with multiple disabilities, complex health needs and brain injuries. Check out their website for more details of the truly amazing work they do every day, at www.thechildrenstrust.org.uk
Even if running is not your thing, please consider helping The Children’s Trust. This charity is inspirational, and let's face it, until we are faced with serious injury, illness, or tragedy in our own lives we tend to put our heads in the sand.
